With cast bullets the rifle shoots 'OK', meaning that it will shoot all the 'known' loads and bullets an honest and repeatable 3 MOA, sometimes a little tighter. No pulled shots, I was right on target throughout the string. 14 and 15, with the barrel getting hot, so I'm speculating that there was some barrel binding due to overheating. Shot a 15 shot string, that looked like this: of WW760 (Sierra's accuracy load), Hornady 168 match bullets, CCI200 primers, to an OAL of 3.220'. Loaded up some Hornady cases with 51.9 grs. So, to REALLY try to establish a baseline for the rifle I installed a Timney trigger, and an S&K scope mount with a Nikon 3-9x40 scope in it. I did as he told, and after some experimenting (8 layers, 6, then finally 4) i was getting about 2-3 MOA from the rifle. I mentioned the problem to Buckshot a while back, and he advised me to tighten up the forward barrel band with a folded cardboard piece. Now the rifle's main issue is that I just cannot seem to get the accuracy out of it that I feel this rifle should give. He reamed the chamber a scosche deeper, and that took care of the problem. When I first started shooting the rifle, about a year ago, she was giving me extraction problems (FL sized and trimmed cases) to such a degree that I had Goodsteel take a look at her.
